Here’s the next square for my vintage sampler blanket. It is made in Debbie Bliss cashmerino dk using 4mm needles. For a 6″ square I cast on 42 stitches and knit 60 rows.
This is the pattern. It requires a number of stitches divisible by 5, plus 2 edge stitches.
st row: K1, *yo, sl1, k1, psso, k3; rep from * to last st, k1.
nd row: K1, *p2tog, p2, sl1 purlways, yrn; rep from * to last st, p1.
rd row: K1 *bring yarn to front, sl2 purlways, yon, sl1, k1, psso. k1; rep from * to the last st, k1.
th row: K1, *p2tog, sl3, yrn; rep from * to last st, p1.
th row: *K1, k into the back of each of the next 4 sts; rep from * to last st, p1.
th row: Purl.
th row: K3, *yo, sl1, k1, psso, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k2.
th row: K1, * p2, sl1 purlways, yrn, p2tog; rep from * to last st, p1.
th row: K2, bring yarn to front, sl2 purlways, yon, sl1, k1, psso. k1; rep from * to end of row.
th row: K1, p1, *p2tog, sl3, yrn; rep from * to end of row.
th row: *K1, k into the back of each of the next 4 sts; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
th row: Purl.

What a lovely stitch pattern. Don’t know why but I have the urge to cast on a give that one a go (any old excuse, eh)
