We’ve spent most of this week with my brother and sister in law, and our nephew and two nieces. My oldest niece, Laura, had asked me before they came whether I would teach her to knit. She said that her favourite colours are turquoise and purple, so I bought some scrummy Noro Silk Garden to start her off:
I thought it would be good to make something that was both cute and small, so we decided to do an ipod cover. Here she is working on it – look at that concentration!
And guess what? She finished it in super-quick time, and it looks fantastic. I’m really proud of what a great job she did!
There’s still plenty of the Noro left, so I’m looking forward to see what she makes next!

hooray for new knitters! And for introducing them to the good stuff early on!
Oh Bells beat me to it – exactly what I was going to say!
Wow, she did a great job! She must take after you!
If only my first yarn had been Noro, instead of Red Heart Super Saver… Though it’s a good thing for my wallet!
Now that is just what I need, a new knitter to leave my queue to. Perfect. She looks so cute concentrating, and the cosy turned out just right.
Looks like a real talent to me… The first thing I knitted was a scarf and not a very pretty one at that.
