Ok, time for some pretties. Here’s a selection from my vintage lace collection. This jug cover is from the 1920s or 1930s; the beads are a lovely heavy ceramic.
In the 1950s, coloured doilies were all the rage. Here’s a couple:
I inherited these Dresden figures from my grandfather last year. When I was a child I adored them for their ethereal porcelain lace. It feels very special to have mementos from my childhood around me now.
I love these curtains. The top one is crochet and the bottom one I think is called openwork lace. The second one was originally a sofa back cover, but I love it in the bathroom window. It’s made from heavy Irish linen.

My mother has many vintage doilies like those, which I will get one day when I have my own place. You have a gorgeous collection though – and I love your Dresden figures!
I saw your midsummer was quite damp. I’ll be over in the UK in October, and I’m even wondering if I’ll see summer, or whether the weather is going to bypass the season completely and go straight to autumn/winter… I’ll think I’ll bring the coat and scarf along as the brolly anyway…
Love the blue and cream doily! Quite partial to your pink candlesticks too.
I love the crochet curtain…one day I will make some of these, if I have the right house for them.
My mum always uses a jug cover, but most of hers only have a crochet edge – another thing I’ll make one day.
Thanks for sharing these!
I found your post while searching for lace doilies. Love the beaded one over the jug. What an imaginative touch. You have a terrific collection.
The jug cover and the curtain are lovely.
that blue and cream doily is just lovely – I have a very similar one the is cream with rose pink and green flowers, and I just adore it!
The beaded milkjug covers take me back to my Nana’s house – always thought they were just so special!!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful things
Lovely collection! I especially love the jug cover (since it has beads!)
