Notice anything odd about my Liesl cardigan?
Anything a bit lopsided, uneven perhaps? Of course you do, it’s pretty obvious isn’t it! Well, except to me, apparently. I’ve tried this on several times, checked that it fitted me nicely across the chest (it does), pinned the front together to see if I liked the buttonhole placement (I do).
I did notice that the back looked like it was a bit small, but I figured that this is maybe how it’s meant to look:
Umm, no it’s not. I’ve managed to put one of the pattern repeats from the back onto one side of the front. Here’s how the front is supposed to look:
And here’s how the other side looks:
Silly girl.

I’m giggling. I’m not supposed to be giggling am I? Bet Steve and the boys are giggling! š
Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Its going to be very pretty! Love how the yarn and pattern go so well together.
Just seen your new sidebar addition š Thats a very big compliment, thank you!
How very annoying! Can you blame your medication?
I hear asymmetry is going to be very in this fall…
Thanks for the laugh – its heartening to know that even a great knitter like you can screw up.
Oooh, that’ not good. But seeing your mistake does make me feel better somehow, misery loves company? But it’s always fixable.
I’m kinda giggling too…(sorry!!). I’m sure you meant to make an assymetrical front, racer back cardigan, didn’t you!!
Oops! I say leave it and start a new trend!
Oh my! Well, that sucks! I guess that means, like rip back? Or, you could just say it was supposed to look like that!
Trust me when I say I feel for you…I have a Ms. Marigold vest sitting somewhere in the house because I don’t want to frog it but I want to forget about it – so I hid it somewhere!!
Can’t you just call it a design feature? Or give it to a somewhat lopsided recipient?
Commiserations. I assume this will mean a visit to the Frog Pond.
asymmetry is totally “in”! you could get away with it š
Ooh how annoying!
Oh dear! Never mind it looks like a quick knit so you can start again!
Hmmm, maybe you were going for that double breasted look, like men’s jackets are? The colour is absolutely gorgeous.
Oh no! Other than that, it does look lovely…
You’ve made me feel so much better about having to reknit my own liesl all this week. Sorry about having to rip back on your own knitting.
Thank you for posting the photos. I now know my plan will work, I want a wide front and narrow back. Your ‘wrong’ front is the look I want. The 38 front and 30 back should work with the wide neckline!
I’m so glad you posted the photo, I’m sorry you had to pull it out and reknit it though.
