The Resolve:
Thank you for all your thoughtful, helpful and funny comments about Christmas gift knitting. I now feel that my loins are well and truly girded: I will remain strong in my resolve to knit as little as possible for anybody other than myself. I’ve decided that most of the items on my Christmas gift list are going to be transformed into birthday gifts, and will thereby be spread out over the year.
The Complement:
I am extremely flattered to say that both Susan and SweetP have nominated me for a Brillante Weblog Award. Thank you so much guys!
I need to pass this award on to seven bloggers, and this is where it gets hard. There are so many blogs that I love! I’ve decided to nominate people whose blogs I read and admire, but who I don’t think I’ve mentioned before. Check them out, they’re all excellent.
- – While Tangerine Dreams
- – Needled
- – Two Swallows
- – Green Apples
- – Girl Who Knits
- – Knitterella
- – All Fingers and Thumbs
The Meme:
Susan also tagged me recently for a fun meme, and I thought it would be a good idea to combine the two.
Here are the rules:
- Link to the person who tagged you.
- Post the rules on your blog.
- Write six random things about yourself.
- Tag six people at the end of your post.
- Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
- Let the tagger know your entry is up.
So, here are six random things about me.
- I am terrified of heights. Or rather, I combine being terrified of falling off heights with an almost magnetic attraction to the edges of high places.
- I know all the plots of all of the Sherlock Holmes stories off by heart.
- I met my husband in the London Dungeons.
- I am ambidextrous.
- I have genuis-level spatial awareness. Seriously, I do. This ability has absolutely no practical use in my life except when packing the boot of a car, or when reading maps.
- I can put both big toes in my mouth at once – look, see how proud I am of myself?
And finally, the people I’d like to find some random things about are:

OMG you’re a freak! And I mean that in the nicest possible way. ๐
Yes, but how did you discover you could fit both big toes in your mouth?
LOL! Love the pic!
I gave you this award too. You must be doubly brilliant ๐ (you dont have to pass it on again lol)
Thank you so much for my award :o) Love your random facts – I think they may be the most random I have ever read!
OMG! (a) I can’t believe you met your husband in the London Dungeons. Please explain! (b) I used to be able to put both big toes in my mouth at once too (OMG! again!) but I’m pretty sure I can no longer boast of having this ability!! (am SO going to try when I get home though!)
Rose Red – I’m so pleased it’s not just me who’s the freak! Pictures if you do it please…
i’m going to ask my yoga teacher what asanas one might have to do to learn to be able to do that, altho’ i’m not exactly sure i want to make it one of my goals for 2009…….
KV, I think that’s an asana in itself – Suckasana ๐ YOU are so impressive! Thanks for the nominiatation and then that photo! You’ve made my day, Pea Princess. For the record, I was tested in Jr High and discovered I have the spatial awareness of an eight month old.
Thank you so much for listing my blog! I’m flattered
You’ve made my day!
OMG, I have to admit, I quickly tried to see if I could do that with my toes and there ain’t no way! Wonder how you came about discovering that ‘talent’ anywayโฆ
That is hilarious, though kind of scary too. You must be like totally awesome at yoga. I bond with the scared of heights things (although I rockclimb…probably to try to convince myself that I can beat the phobia…a non-sucessful experiment so far…).
That is a great photo! Thanks for the tag, my facts are up though I don’t think as random as yours:)
That is the absolutely funniest picture ever! I haven’t been able to do that since I was about six months old.
I used to be able to put one toe in my mouth, but it was… er, a while ago. When I was eight, perhaps.
Thank you so so much for my award – I’ve never had one before, and am really flattered. Now to think of some people to pass it on to!
