Pattern: Ice Queen, from the Winter 2007 issue of Knitty
Yarn: Cherry Tree Hill Suri Laceweight, in the Gypsy Rose colourway. This was really nice yarn to work with, and is warm and soft to wear.
Notes: I wanted more of a neckwarmer than a cowl, so I cast off after 9 inches. I also wanted the edgings to be simpler than specified in the pattern, so I begun and ended the cowl with 6 rows of garter stitch.
Here’s the ‘sensible’ picture of me wearing the cowl (albeit as a lacy bandit):
Here are the rest…

Ohhh, so pretty. That’s been in my queue since it came out but I don’t need one and everybody else has an aversion to things touching their necks! Maybe I do need one. Can we vote for the picture we like best?

Now, those are the kind of FO photos I like! Too cute. The cowl looks scrumptious–beautiful colorings in that yarn and at least from here, it looks soft as a feather!
it kind of reminds me of cousin it from the adams family (don’t know if you had that in the u.k., so not sure this will mean anything……very cute.
LOVE the modeled shots The Ice Queen is one of those patterns I don’t consider until I see it knit up in a fabulous way like you’ve done. Beautiful!
gorgeous. Colours work well with that pattern, better than all the pastel versions I’ve seen.
