I’m on a something of a knitting sprint at the moment. One of my dear friends is getting married later this month, and has asked me to knit a shrug for her wedding outfit.
The pattern I am using is Debbie Bliss’s Bolero Jacket (Ravelry link), although I am making a number of alterations to the pattern. The yarn is Rowan Silk Wool DK in Milk. It’s a lovely soft yarn, with a subtle sheen.
The body is finished as of this afternoon; I am about to start the sleeves as soon as I sign off here.
In addition to this, I am very behind on the granny squares blanket that I am making for a soon-to-be-born baby in our family. I also have been trawling Rav for baby patterns to make, with luck between the shrug being finished and the baby being born!
I have got 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding, and 4 weeks before the baby is due. I’m thinking that the blanket may end up being a first Christmas present – hopefully I can knock off some cute baby clothes in a week…
Finally, if you’re one of the people whose blog I normally read, I’d like to apologise for my absence at the moment. I miss you guys, and I am missing seeing what you are up to. Things are calming down here though, so I’ll be back soon!

Welcome back to blogging! Missed you.
The shrug is going to be gorgeous, what a lovely gift for the bride. Happy knitting.

happy knitting and welcome back princess š
We miss you too!
It seems every time I think about you and that it’s been a while between posts, and then you post the next day. I must remember to think about you more often! Daily even!! (no, I won’t put that pressure on you!)
I think the blanket for Christmas idea is a good one. You can definitely whip up a little baby jacket within a week!
You’re alive! I’ve missed you! The bolero photo looks like its going to be beautiful!
Baby clothes are quick, easy knits – you’ll be fine!
Good luck with the deadlines and the chaos, looking forward to hearing more on your posts when you have the time.
Oh how lovely to knit part of your friend’s wedding outfit – and lucky friend to have you knit it for them.
Your lucky friend!!! What a marvelous thing to do for her!
Good luck with the deadlines!
